Constans, 337-350. Follis (Bronze, 23 mm, 5.84 g, 6 h), a contemporary imitation of a follis from Aquileia, after 348. D N CONSTANS P F AVG Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Constans to right. Rev. FEL TEMP REPARATIO / AP Constans, in military attire, standing front on galley, head to left, holding Phoenix on globe in his right hand and labarum in his left; on stern to right, Victory seated left, steering the ship. Cf. Paolucci & Zub 415 and RIC 99 (for prototype). A lovely piece of charming style. Nearly extremely fine.
